Election statement
Hello, my name is Kathy Snyder, and I am seeking re-election to the office of secretary. My commitment to the profession and to the surgical patient is evident in everything I do as a CST, and in my outstanding record of service to AST at all levels. Many years of service in a variety of positions and levels have contributed to the comprehensive understanding I have of the issues facing surgical technology today.
I believe that the organization and communication skills I have developed as a practitioner, educator and leader also contribute to the efficiency necessary for the office of secretary. My leadership abilities have been demonstrated in many situations, and I believe that I am uniquely prepared to serve AST at this level. I believe that I am exceptionally able to contribute to enhancing the vision for AST and the profession of surgical technology.
I encourage delegates to seek out those people with whom I have been privileged to serve, and inquire about the manner in which I serve the members of AST. You will find that I take each assignment seriously and give each issue thoughtful consideration. In addition, I have been honored to provide leadership mentoring to a number of individuals, and they are some of my best references. Please ask them about my commitment to AST and my competency. I care deeply about our profession, so I am placing my name on the ballot for your consideration for re-election to the office of secretary. I look forward to the possibility and the challenge of continuing to serve the members of AST in this position.
