AST Approved CE
Providers
The Association of
Surgical Technologists implemented the AST Continuing Education Provider
Approval Policies for state assemblies and commercial business beginning January
1, 2005. The first step in becoming an AST approved provider of continuing
education is the completion of a self-study report that is reviewed by AST for
compliance with the Provider Approval Policies.
Organizations and businesses, including AST state assemblies, have been required to be an approved provider in order to offer CE credits to the CST and CFA. Due to the increasing complexity of CE, including the proliferation of online CE offerings, AST is replacing the Approved Provider Policies with the AST Policies for Program and Enduring Materials Approval. These policies became effective January 1, 2010.
Corporate businesses, nonprofit organizations and AST state assemblies that wish to offer CE credits to the CST and CFA will be required to complete the program application and submit it to AST for review.
The AST Policies for the Approval of CE Programs for State Assemblies is available here. To download an application, please click here.
The list below shows commercial businesses that
completed the self-study report and are approved by AST as a provider of
continuing education for the CST and CFA.
