scholarships • NYAST offers students to attend the AST Annual National Conferences: • Active participation in our professional organization is one of the best ways to have a voice and be recognized as an important and equal entity in the surgical setting. • Attending state and national conferences is an important part of being an active member of our profession. • AST 49 th Annual National Conference in Orlando, Florida, May 31-June 2, 2018. • NYAST will be accepting scholarship applications for one Surgical Technology student, and one NYAST member currently working in the field, who has never attended the AST Annual National Conferences. • We have sent students to conferences in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and sent one working NYAST member in 2016. • Recipients all had positive experiences while attending conference. • Enhances the recipients professionally and personally.
