Recertifying by Examination The other route that is available for renewing the CST or CSFA credential is retaking the NBSTSA national certification ex- amination. The NBSTSA administers the national certification examina- tions and issues the certifications for CSTs and CSFAs. AST and the NBSTSA are two separate organizations.
