Achieve Recognition

AST values the hard work and dedication surgical technology educators put into teaching and mentoring their students. That's why the Foundation for Surgical Technology created the Constellation Awards - to recognize and reward surgical technology educators at different stages in their careers.

Constellation Awards

Constellation Awards recognize educators (didactic or clinical) at three different career levels:

Rising Stars - educators with one to five years of teaching experience

Shining Stars - educators with six to 14 years of teaching experience

Guiding Stars - educators with 15 or more years of teaching experience

One educator will be selected annually at each level. The awards, valued at $1,000, include a registration for the AST Educator's Conference in February and monetary support. The Constellation Awards are administered by the Foundation for Surgical Technology.

Applications are due annually on December 1.
