AST Ambassadors

The Ambassador Program is designed to expand AST's grassroots advocacy efforts and strengthen connections with students, certified surgical technologists (CSTs), educators, and community partners across the country. The program will provide members with an opportunity to serve as representatives of the profession while helping elevate the visibility and impact of surgical technologists.

Selected applicants will participate in a structured training program designed to prepare them for their ambassador roles, including guidance on advocacy, professional outreach, and representing AST in professional settings.

The goal of the Ambassador Program is to cultivate a network of engaged professionals who can amplify AST's voice at the local and national levels. By empowering ambassadors to connect with students, professionals, and community stakeholders, AST will continue advancing patient safety, professional standards, and recognition for surgical technologists.

Core Responsibilities

• Representing AST at conferences, schools, and community events
• Mentoring students and certified surgical technologists (CSTs) in professional growth and credentialing
• Promoting public awareness and understanding of the surgical technology profession
• Supporting advocacy campaigns for fair wages, education standards, and credentialing requirements through legislative initiatives
• Leading outreach initiatives in collaboration with local healthcare and educational partners
