Enhancing the profession to ensure quality patient care.
In 2005, the AST Board of Directors established the first student-focused event at the AST national conference, where more than 300 students came to learn, network and demonstrate their eagerness to join the surgical technology arena during the AST Student Day. Each year after, hundreds of students have gathered to attend the since-renamed ASTSA Forum. Each year students elect their peers to serve as ASTSA student representatives and help drive the success of the ASTSA and foster new engagement into the profession.
If you are interested in running for a 2018-2019 ASTSA student representative position, please make sure your application is turned in prior to 4 pm the day before the ASTSA Forum so your name will be included in the ballot system. The application can be found in the ASTSA Representative Manual on the right-hand side of this page.
Completed applications may be sent to AST Headquarters prior to April 1, 2018, or submitted at the registration desk or the ASTSA exhibit table onsite at the Orlando conference.
For more information, including eligibility requirements and applications, click on the ASTSA Representative Manual or contact the ASTSA staff liaison, Wanda Folsom, firstname.lastname@example.org.
